Six women's rowing student-athletes honored for academic work

Six members of the Hamilton College women's rowing team have earned 2019 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete awards.

All student-athletes on the list must have reached at least sophomore academic standing and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better through the fall semester of the current competition year. The student-athlete must have rowed in her institution's NCAA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or raced in a regional conference event.

Hamilton's 2019 CRCA scholar-athletes are as follows:

Rachel Sutor '20 (Gladwyne, Pa./Baldwin School)
Vicky Xu '19 (Northborough, Mass./Worcester Academy)

Hartnett and Sutor made the list for the second year in a row. All six are on the 2019 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team.

The Continentals finished sixth in the grand final at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championships and competed in the grand final at the National Invitational Rowing Championships. Hamilton was No. 6 in the final CRCA/USRowing Division III Top 15 regular season coaches poll and went on to finish sixth in the team standings at the NCAA championships. The Continentals made their second NCAA championships appearance in program history this past spring.
