Mary Buzeta

Mary Buzeta joined the Hamilton College men's and women's swimming and diving staff as an assistant coach in September 2017. She had been coaching with the Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta, Ga., since 2015.

Buzeta coached with SwimAtlanta in Hamilton Mill and Roswell for six years prior to joining Dynamo Swim Club. She was a volunteer assistant coach at Emory University during the 2016-17 season and from 2009 to 2011. She is a USA certified coach and has a Level 2 American Swimming Coaches Association certification.

After swimming at Hamilton for one season, Buzeta went on to enjoy a successful collegiate career at Emory from 2006 until 2009. She was a three-time all-American as part of an 800-yard freestyle relay and captured a national title with that relay at the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She earned three all-America honorable mention awards for the 200 free at the national meet. Buzeta helped lead Emory to three top four finishes in the team standings at the NCAA championships, including second place in 2009. She was on three winning relays in the University Athletic Association (UAA) championships and earned all-UAA honors in six events including the 200 free and the 200 butterfly. Emory won three UAA team titles during Buzeta's career. She was a team captain her senior year.

Buzeta received her bachelor's degree from Emory in psychology. She grew up in New Hartford, N.Y., but attended Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania where she was captain of the varsity swim team in 2004-05.
