Two women's lacrosse players collect all-region honors

Hamilton College's Kara Pooley '19 (Wexford, Pa./Shady Side Academy) and Hannah Burrall '19 (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva HS) were selected for the 2019 Division III All-Region Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Monday, May 20.

Pooley is on the first team in the Berkshire Region and Burrall is on the second team. They are two of 32 athletes honored in the region.

Pooley started all 15 games at midfield and is on the all-region team for the third straight year. She also made the first team in 2017. She led the Continentals or tied for the lead in all major statistical categories including points with 44, goals (23), assists (21), caused turnovers (37), ground balls (37) and draw controls (54). She finished her 64-game career (60 starts) with 93 goals and 42 assists for 135 points, and added 117 ground balls, 155 draw controls and 114 caused turnovers.

Burrall, who is one of two goalkeepers recognized in the Berkshire Region, racked up 152 saves and posted a .492 save percentage. She also made the all-region second team as a sophomore in 2017. She logged nearly 3,000 minutes in goal during a 63-game career that included 59 starts, and finished fourth on the program's all-time list with 438 career saves. Burrall made 15 stops in a 7-6 setback against nationally ranked William Smith College on April 17 and turned away a season-high 17 shots in a narrow 6-5 loss against then-No. 8 Wesleyan University three days later.
