Hamilton College's Mya Berretta '22 scored twice and the Continentals posted a 2-0 non-conference victory against the Morrisville State College Mustangs at Morrisville State's IcePlex on Tuesday afternoon.

Sidney Molnar '22 denied all 16 shots on goal to earn the first shutout of her Hamilton career. Morrisville's Karoline Arvik also collected 16 saves.

After nearly 26 scoreless minutes, the Continentals (9-4-1 overall) broke the stalemate with a power-play goal. Michaela Giuttari '20 collected the puck at the right faceoff dot and passed to Missy Segall '21 in the slot. Arvik stopped Segall's one-timer but Berretta was there to stuff the rebound across the goal line at 5:42 in the second period.

Berretta went solo on her second goal after the Mustangs (9-6-1) turned the puck over in the neutral zone and she doubled Hamilton's lead at 9:25 in the third. Berretta skated into the offensive zone for a one-on-one, slipped the puck between the defender's legs, and backhanded it into the nylon for her third collegiate goal.

The Continentals return to conference action this weekend when they host Wesleyan University for a two-game NESCAC series. The puck drops at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18 and 3 p.m. on Saturday at Russell Sage Rink.
