Women's basketball player Serbent '19 honored by NESCAC

Hamilton College's Halie Serbent '19 (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth HS) was selected the NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 26.

Serbent averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two wins last week for the Continentals. The award is the first of her Hamilton career.

The 6-foot, 1-inch wing posted a double-double with 21 points and a career-high 14 boards and added three steals in a 68-62 victory at SUNY Potsdam on Nov. 20. Serbent chipped in 10 points and was 4 of 6 from the floor in a 91-69 triumph at SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Nov. 24.

Serbent leads the conference with 17 offensive rebounds. She is fourth with 16.3 points per game and fifth with a field goal percentage of 58.6 percent.

Hamilton (3-0 overall) has a busy week coming up. The Continentals make the short trip to Utica College tonight for a 7 p.m. start and they host Morrisville State College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Hamilton plays in Norwich University's Ed Hockenbury Classic in Northfield, Vermont, this weekend. The Continentals take on Framingham State University on Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. and will move on to either the consolation or championship game on Saturday, Dec. 1.
