Men's cross country places 10th at NESCAC Championships

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in 10th place out of 11 men's teams in the 2019 NESCAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass., on Saturday afternoon.

Lucas Wright '21 paced Hamilton in 29th place out of 145 athletes with a time of 26:35.4 on the 8-kilometer course. Max Steffey '22 was next for the Continentals in 41st place and a time of 26:56.3 and Jake Colangelo '20 ended up in 63rd place in 27:20.6. Chris Skeldon '20 finished 72nd with a time of 27:37.4 and Peter Ross '20 rounded out Hamilton's top five in 82nd place in 27:44.2.

The Continentals' team score was 244 points. Nationally ranked No. 2 Williams College -- the host school -- cruised to the team title with 22 points. No. 32 Amherst College was runner-up with 97 points and edged No. 25 Middlebury College by 10. No. 18 Colby College finished fourth with 135 points and No. 24 Bates College was close behind with 138.

Hamilton is off next weekend and returns on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region championships at St. Lawrence University.
