Men's cross country tunes up for NESCAC championships

The Hamilton College Continentals boasted the winner in the 4-kilometer and 5-kilometer men's races in their own 2019 Cross Country Short Course Tuneup on Saturday.

Hamilton's Max Steffey '22 topped the 74-runner field in the 5K with a time of 16:12.5. Chris Skeldon '20 followed in third place with a time of 16:25.3 and Jake Colangelo '20 was close behind in fourth place and a time of 16:28.8. Peter Ross '20 landed in fifth place in 16:36.6 and Nick Lyon '22 rounded out the Continentals' top five in sixth place with a time of 16:38.6.

Lucas Wright '21 won the 4K race by more than 19 seconds with a time of 13:30.5 as Hamilton claimed each of the top six finishers. Bryce Murdick '20 was the runner-up in 13:49.6 and Brendan Magill '23 ended up in third place with a time of 14:02.7. AJ Zuckerman '23 took fourth place in 14:16.2, Luke Cohen-Abeles '23 was fifth in 14:37.2 and Jed Katzenstein '23 rounded out the Continentals' top six with a time of 14:39.5.

Hamilton competes in the 2019 NESCAC Cross Country Championships at Mount Greylock Regional High School on Saturday, Nov. 2.
