Men's cross country takes first place in own invitational

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in first place out of nine men's teams in their own 2019 Hamilton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Six of the top eight finishers were Continentals as they breezed to the team title with 24 team points. SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry was runner-up with 69 points and Ithaca College ended up in third place with 80.

Lucas Wright '21 led Hamilton in second place out of 102 finishers with a time of 26:05.9 on the soft 8-kilometer course. Chris Skeldon '20 took fourth place in a personal-record time of 26:25.2 and Max Steffey '22 was fifth with a collegiate-best time of 26:30.3. Peter Ross '20 crossed the finish line in sixth place in 26:49.2 and Bryce Murdick '20 (seventh place) and Jake Colangelo '20 (eighth) were close behind with times of 26:51.4 and 26:52.4, respectively. Ross and Colangelo registered 8K personal-best times. Nick Lyon '22 rounded out the Continentals' top seven in 13th place with a time of 27:01.2.

Hamilton competes in St. Lawrence University's Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
