The Hamilton College Continentals finished in sixth place out of 18 teams at the 2019 University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday.
Lucas Wright '21 led Hamilton in 14th place out of 219 runners with an 8-kilometer time of 26:31. Rishabh Prakash of Cornell University finished first with a time of 25:45.5.
Max Steffey '22 finished close behind Wright in 15th place with a personal-record time of 26:32.6 and Bryce Murdick '20 followed in 23rd place with a time of 26:44.3. Chris Skeldon '20 crossed the finish line in 40th place with a time of 27:19.2 and Peter Ross '20 was next in 60th place with a time of 27:37.3. Craig Feist '23 finished in 68th place with a time of 27:50.7 and Brendan Magill '23 rounded out the Continentals' top seven in 72nd place with a time of 27:56.4.
Hamilton collected a total of 152 team points and Division I Cornell won the team title with 46. Nationally ranked No. 11 SUNY Geneseo finished second with 89 points, followed closely by Rochester with 96. SUNY Brockport finished in fourth place with 120 points and Rochester Institute of Technology was close behind with 128.
The Continentals will race again on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass.
