Men's cross country finishes 11th at NESCAC Championships

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in 11th place out of 11 teams at the 2018 NESCAC Men's Cross Country Championship held at Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday morning.

Lucas Wright '21 led Hamilton in 39th place out of 154 runners with a time of 26:46.5 on the 8-kilometer course. Nick Lyon '22 was next in 48th place and a season-best time of 26:53.8, Bryce Murdick '20 ended up 84th in 27:25.8, and Chris Skeldon '20 finished 93rd with a time of 27:38. Colin Horgan '19 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 96th place and a time of 27:41.1.

Hamilton registered 285 team points. Nationally ranked No. 8 Amherst captured the team title with 60 points, No. 11 Williams was runner-up with 86, and No. 14 Middlebury was close behind in third place with 88. No. 33 Connecticut College finished fifth with 148 points, No. 27 Bowdoin was sixth with 156, and No. 21 Tufts was right behind in seventh place with 159.

The Continentals are off next weekend and get back on the course on Saturday, Nov. 10 in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Championships at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J.
