Men's cross country collects Short Course Tuneup title at home

The men's cross country team captured the team title in the 2018 Hamilton College Short Course Tuneup on Hamilton's campus on Saturday.

The Continentals finished with 21 team points, SUNY Polytechnic Institute was the runner-up with 59 points and Hobart College took third with 77. Team scores were created from the top three finishers from each team in the 3-kilometer and 4-kilometer races.

Hamilton's Bryce Murdick '20 finished in second place out of 67 runners with a time of 16:38.1 on the muddy and slow 5-kilometer course. Nick Lyon '22 landed in fourth place with a time of 16:54.1 and Chris Skeldon '20 was sixth in 17:04.5.

The first six runners across the finish line in the 4-kilometer race were Continentals. Lucas Wright '21 topped the 29-athlete field with a time of 13:16. Frank Zuroski '20 was runner-up in 13:38.2 and Colin Horgan '19 grabbed third place with a time of 13:43.8.

Hamilton competes in the NESCAC championships at Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday, Oct. 27. The men's race starts at 2 p.m.
