Wright '21 guides men's cross country to Hamilton Invite title

Hamilton College finished in first place out of 11 teams in its own 2018 Hamilton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Lucas Wright '21 paced the Continentals in second place out of 115 runners with a time of 26:24.5 on the 8-kilometer course. Bryce Murdick '20 landed in fourth place in 26:51.2 and Chris Skeldon '20 gave Hamilton three athletes in the top five with a time of 27:26.1.

Peter Ross '20 ended up seventh (27:33.3) and Nick Lyon '22 was close behind in 10th place with a personal-record time of 27:38.4. Frank Zuroski '20 was next in 11th place (27:48.8) and Jake Colangelo '20 rounded out the Continentals' top seven in 12th place (27:50.9).

Hamilton registered just 28 points as the Continentals captured the team title. Utica College was runner-up with 57 points and Ithaca College was third with 83 points. Ithaca is ranked sixth in the Atlantic Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Hamilton won't compete again until its Short Course Tuneup on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 11:30 a.m.
