Murdick '20 excels in short course meet again, men win team title

Men's cross country captured the team title in the 2018 Hamilton College Short Course Invitational on Saturday morning.

The Continentals finished with 48 team points and topped the eight-team meet. Ithaca College was the runner-up with 53 points and SUNY Delhi was one point back in third place.

Hamilton's Bryce Murdick '20 landed in third place out of 94 runners with a time of 15:45.8 on the 5-kilometer course. Murdick finished in fifth place in last year's short course meet. Max Steffey '22 was close behind Murdick in fourth place with a time of 15:51.3 in Steffey's collegiate debut.

Chris Skeldon '20 took 10th place with a time of 16:12.6 and Frank Zuroski '20 crossed the finish line in 12th place in 16:16. Peter Ross '20 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 19th place with a time of 16:24. Jake Colangelo '20 was the next finisher in 20th place and a time of 16:27.3, and Colin Horgan '19 ended up 22nd in 16:30.3.

Hamilton is off next weekend and returns to the course on Saturday, Sept. 22 for Williams' Purple Valley Classic at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass.
