Hamilton College's Ty Kunzman '20 (Spencer, N.Y./Notre Dame HS) received 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on May 19.

USTFCCCA Division III Indoor All-America release

Kunzman qualified to compete in the men's weight throw at the 2020 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C., on March 13, but all NCAA winter and spring sport championships were canceled the day before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the decision was made to recognize all NCAA indoor track & field championship qualifiers as all-Americans this year.

Kunzman is the first Hamilton men's track & field all-American since Joe Jensen '15 collected indoor honors in 2015.

Kunzman was recognized by the USTFCCCA in March when he earned 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-Region honors in the weight throw for the third straight year. He posted the second-best performance in the region with a school-record distance of 18.23 meters (59 feet, 9.75 inches) at Colgate University's Class of '32 Invitational on Feb. 15.

The top five individuals in each event from each region and each member of their region's top three relays earned all-region distinction. The regions for this award match those used during the cross country season. Hamilton competes in the Atlantic Region.
