Hamilton College men's track and field athletes finished in the top five in 13 events at SUNY Cortland's Friday Night Under the Lights Invitational on April 12.
Max Steffey '22 and Lucas Wright '21 both earned the top spot in their respective events. Steffey posted a time of 4:16.92 in the 1,500-meter run and Wright finished the 400-meter dash in 50.70 seconds.
Colin Horgan '19 finished in fifth place with a time of 4:22.66 in the 1,500 meters and was sixth in the 800-meter run (2:06.12). Jake Bolster '19 placed fourth in the 400 meters in 52.95 seconds.
Chris Skeldon '20, Will Richardson '21, Sam Robinson '20 and Mitch Bierman '21 joined forces for a first place finish of 44.12 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay. Hugo Frost '22 led the field events with a fifth-place bound of 12.18 meters in the triple jump.
Skeldon and Nick Lyon '22 placed second and fourth in the 5,000-meter run, respectively. Skeldon finished in 16:30.13 and Lyon recorded a time of 16:43.73.
Richardson crossed the finish line second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.43 seconds, and Ryan Sedwick '19 posted a third-place finish time of 23.06 seconds in the 200- meter dash.
In the 100-meter dash both Robinson and Bierman finished in the top five. Robinson was third with a time of 11.14 seconds and Bierman's time of 11.40 was good for fifth. Aaron Kraus '21 posted a time of 2:04.61 in the 800 meters, which placed him third.
On Saturday, Mike Spicer '21 was the lone competitor at SUNY Delhi's Bronco Classic. Spicer tied for fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 33.72 meters and finished eighth (27.69m) in the hammer throw.
Hamilton hosts its annual Mid-Week Invitational at Pritchard Track on Tuesday, April 16.
