Relay success guides men’s track & field at Hamilton Invite

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in the top three in seven events in the non-team scoring 2019 Hamilton Outdoor Invitational at Pritchard Track on Saturday.

Lucas Wright '21 led the way with a first place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.38. Wright also anchored the 1,600-meter relay that finished second (3:26.30). Will Richardson '21, Jake Bolster '19 and Hugo Frost '22 made up the rest of the relay.

Sam Robinson '20 recorded personal-best times in two events. Robinson's time of 22.27 seconds placed him third in the 200-meter dash and he finished fourth (11.07 seconds) in the 100-meter dash. Robinson also joined Mitch Bierman '21, Ryan Sedwick '19 and Richardson on the winning 400-meter relay with a time of 43.46 seconds.

Hamilton's relay success continued with a second place finish in the 3,200-meter relay. Colin Horgan '19, Aaron Kraus '21, James Adler '21 and Reilly Shew '19 recorded a time of 8:31.00.

Bryce Murdick '20 smoked his previous career-best time in the 5,000-meter run (15:46.09) with a personal-best performance of 15:06.81. Nick Lyon '22 finished third in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 35:01.62, and Frost led the field events with a seventh place finish of 12.78 meters in the triple jump.

Hamilton competes at SUNY Cortland's Friday Night Under the Lights Invite on Friday, April 12 starting at 3 p.m.
