Hamilton College men's track and field athletes finished in the top 10 in eight events at Utica College's 2019 Blue and Orange Invitational on Saturday.
Hamilton accumulated 44 points to finish seventh out of 16 teams.
Lucas Wright '21 paced the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 1:55.93, topping the previous Hutton Sports & Recreation Center facility record of 1:56.35 and blowing past Luke Myers of Division I Colgate University and his runner-up time of 1:57.25. Wright also anchored the 4x400-meter relay that finished seventh (3:32.04). Will Richardson '21, Jake Bolster '19 and Hugo Frost '22 made up the rest of the relay.
Ty Kunzman '20 finished first after throwing the 35-pound weight 16.32 meters.
Bryce Murdick '20 and Nick Lyon '22 posted personal-best times in the 5,000-meter run. Murdick erased more than 20 seconds off his career best and topped the field of 24 runners with a time of 15:33.99, and Lyon's time of 16:03.02 placed him sixth.
Richardson placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.50 seconds, Aaron Kraus '21 finished fifth (1:08.85) in the 500 meters, and Reilly Shew '19 posted a 10th-place time of 2:47.35 in the 1,000-meter run.
Hamilton travels to Colgate University on Saturday, Feb. 9 to participate in the Class of '32 Invitational at 11 a.m.
