Kunzman '20 leads men's track & field at Utica College

Hamilton College's Ty Kunzman '20 was runner-up in the 35-pound weight throw at the 2018 Utica College Track & Field Pioneer Winter Classic at the Hutton Sports and Recreation Center on Saturday.

This was the first event of the indoor season for the Continentals. The Hamilton men won't compete again until Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, when they host their own indoor invitational inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House at 4 p.m.

Kunzman's distance of 16.49 meters qualified him for the 2019 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championships at Ithaca College in early March.

The rest of the Continentals' competitors were track athletes. Will Richardson '21 finished fourth in the 300-meter dash with a time of 36.79 seconds, Colin Horgan '19 was sixth in the mile run (4:37.19) and Jake Bolster '19 took seventh place in the 400-meter dash in 53.91 seconds.

Ryan Sedwick '19 landed in sixth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.95 seconds and finished seventh in the finals of the 60-meter dash in 7.37 seconds. Sedwick posted a faster time of 7.33 seconds in the preliminary heats.
