The Hamilton College Continentals continue their fall schedule this weekend with the 2019 ITA Division III Men's Northeast Regional Championships hosted by Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y.

Hamilton returns 15 athletes to the courts in 2019-20 and the 20 players on this season's roster is the highest number in recent memory. The Continentals posted an overall record of 11-5 that included two losses by a 5-4 decision last season. It was the most dual-match victories in a season since 1995-96 and the best win percentage since 1993-94. Hamilton ended up 18th in the ITA Division III Northeast Region team rankings and had a nine-match win streak that started with a triumph over Colby.

All of the Continentals top singles players and most of their top doubles teams are back this season. Joe Reiner '22 boasted a 20-4 singles record and No. 1 player Max Zimmerman '21 and classmate Tim Derby '21 won 12 matches apiece. Rob Dotterer '21 chipped in 11 victories, Jafar Sharipov '21 added nine and Sam Farber '20 had eight despite missing the fall semester while he was studying off campus.

Zimmerman and Danny Tsyvin '22 went an impressive 17-7 in doubles and set a team record for most wins in a season by a doubles pairing. The duo advanced to the doubles bracket quarterfinals of last year's ITA regional championships. Tsyvin was also 6-2 in singles play.

Dotterer and Farber as well as Reiner and Lars Scannell '19 won six matches apiece in doubles competition. Derby and Scannell (4-0 record as a team) and Eamon Gibbons '21 and Matt May '21 (1-2) played in multiple dual matches.

Earlier this fall Dotterer and Adam Dietz '23 were singles flight winners at the 2019 Union College Dutchmen Invitational. The team of Farber and Eric Stein '23 and the pairing of Reiner and Ronnak Saxena '23 captured doubles flight titles.

Dotterer is one of the top 16 seeds in the singles bracket draw at this weekend's regional championships, which get started at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27. His first opponent is Nazareth College's Nate Allen. Stein plays Skidmore College's Jack McClaren, who is one of the top eight seeds. Reiner takes on Vassar College's Mathew Yee and Matthew Bartok '23 goes up against St. John Fisher College's Dustin McCullough.

Dotterer and Bartok are one of the top eight seeds in the doubles bracket draw and they will open their tournament against a Skidmore pairing. Stein and Reiner get started against a duo from The College of New Jersey.
