Men's tennis defeats Ithaca, still perfect in non-conference play

The Hamilton College Continentals posted a 7-2 win against the Ithaca College Bombers in a non-conference match between two teams ranked in the Northeast Region at Hamilton on Tuesday.

The doubles matches were played at the Tietje Family Tennis Center and the singles matches were moved inside to Margaret Bundy Scott Field House when the rains came. The Continentals (11-3 overall) are 18th in the Oracle/ITA Division III men's rankings for the Northeast Region while Ithaca is 20th. Hamilton returns to NESCAC play on Saturday, April 27 at Connecticut College at 2 p.m.

Sam Farber '20, Rob Dotterer '21 and Joe Reiner '22 won their singles and doubles matches for the Continentals. Farber dropped the first set but came back to win in three, including a tiebreak in the third set, at second flight singles. Dotterer had a much easier time with his third flight singles match, and he and Farber won in a tiebreaker at first flight doubles.

Reiner improved to a team-best 18-3 in singles play with another victory in fifth flight action. Reiner and Lars Scannell '19 cruised to the win at third flight doubles in Scannell's final match at home. Max Zimmerman '21 prevailed in three sets at first flight singles and Danny Tsyvin '22 was a winner at sixth flight singles.
