Men's tennis breezes to eighth straight win

The Hamilton College Continentals cruised to a 9-0 non-conference victory against Rochester Institute of Technology at Hamilton's Tietje Family Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Continentals (8-1 overall) have won eight matches in a row and have shut out their last three opponents. Hamilton is 17th in the Oracle/ITA Division III Northeast Region Men's Rankings. The Continentals travel to Union College for another non-conference match on Thursday, April 11 at 4 p.m.

Max Zimmerman '21, Sam Farber '20, Tim Derby '21, Joe Reiner '22 and Danny Tsyvin '22 won their singles and doubles matches. Zimmerman (first flight) recorded his eighth singles win and teamed up with Tsyvin at first flight doubles as they improved their record to 13-4. Farber posted his 30th singles victory with a triumph at second flight. He and Derby were paired together for the first time this season but they still picked up the win at third flight doubles. Derby's singles record is 10-5 after he triumphed at third flight. 

Reiner is a team-best 15-2 in singles play after he recorded another win at fourth flight. He also joined forces with Lars Scannell '19 for the win at second flight doubles. Scannell has a perfect 6-0 doubles record this season. Jafar Sharipov '21 prevailed at fifth flight singles and upped his record to 9-2 in the process. Tsyvin was in the lineup for the second straight day and dropped just one game in his match at sixth flight singles.
