Men's tennis wins fourth straight match

The Hamilton College Continentals recorded their fourth straight win with a 7-2 victory against the Bethel University Royals at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida, on Thursday.

Hamilton (4-1 overall) goes for five wins in a row on Friday, March 22 at 8 a.m. against Brooklyn College at Star Island Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. Bethel's record dipped to 7-7.

Tim Derby '21 won his singles and doubles match for the Continentals. He prevailed in straight sets, including a tiebreaker in the second set, at fourth flight singles. He teamed up with Lars Scannell '19 at third flight doubles. Derby has eight singles and five double victories this season.

Sam Farber '20, Rob Dotterer '21, Joe Reiner '22 and Jafar Sharipov '21 won their singles matches in straight sets. Farber (second flight) has three wins this spring and 28 for his Hamilton career. Dotterer moved his singles record above .500 at 7-6 with his triumph at third flight. Reiner didn't lose a game at fifth flight and leads the Continentals with 12 singles victories. Sharipov is 4-3 in singles after he breezed to the win at sixth flight.

Danny Tsyvin '22 and Max Zimmerman '21 are 11-4 as a doubles team this season after they edged their opponents at second flight.
