Doubles pairing makes it to quarters at men's tennis regional

The Hamilton College doubles team of Max Zimmerman '21 and Danny Tsyvin '22 advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2018 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Northeast Regional Men's Tennis Championships at the Hobart/William Smith Colleges Tennis Center and Bristol Field House in Geneva, N.Y., on Saturday.

Zimmerman and Tsyvin were one of the eight seeded doubles pairing for this tournament. They edged Pasquale Procaccino and Sahaj Somani of University of Rochester 9-7 in Friday's opening round and posted an 8-6 victory against Nico Haet and Leo Romanetz of St. Lawrence University in the second round on Saturday. Zimmerman and Tsyvin were knocked out of the championship by third-seeded Brian Szayna and Marc Feliu Gomez of Stevens Institute of Technology in the quarters, 8-3. The Hamilton duo went 7-3 as a doubles pairing this fall.

The Continentals' Eamon Gibbons '21 and Rob Dotterer '21 took on a seeded doubles pair in the first round in Matthew Michibata and Tim Gavornik of The College of New Jersey and fell by the score of 8-3.

The men's tennis team has finished the fall season and will be back in action on March 9, 2019, for a NESCAC match at home against Middlebury.
