Men's swimming still undefeated in dual meets

The Hamilton College Continentals finished first in seven swimming events and posted a dual meet win against SUNY New Paltz at New Paltz's Elting Pool on Friday night.

Hamilton racked up 115 points to the Hawks' 90 as the Continentals improved their dual meet record to 3-0. Hamilton won't hit the pool again until Friday, Dec. 6 when the Continentals compete on the first day of the three-day Worcester Polytechnic Institute Gompei Invitational.

Nick Wilkins '22 and Evan Tatro '20 took first place in two events apiece and were half of a winning 200-yard freestyle relay. Wilkins boasted the top time in the 200 free in 1:49.22 and captured first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.73 seconds. Tatro was a winner in the 200 individual medley (2:02.28) and finished more than three seconds ahead in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.87 seconds.

Wilkins and Tatro were joined by Sandro Mariani '21 and Will Brindisi '22 on a 200 free relay that recorded a time of 1:29.78. Mariani breezed to victory in the 50 free with a time of 22.59 seconds and was runner-up in the 100 free in 50.93 seconds.

Emilio Vicioso '23 touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.96, which was 2.5 seconds faster than the runner-up. Nate Hays '23 was close behind Tatro in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.36.
