Bennett '19 a winner for men's swimming in dual meet at RPI

Hamilton College's Jesse Bennett '19 captured first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a dual meet against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at RPI's Robison Pool on Saturday afternoon.

The Continentals finished the regular season with a dual meet record of 2-7 after the loss against the Engineers, who received votes in the latest Division III Top 25 coaches poll. Hamilton is off until the 2019 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at Middlebury College. The four-day meet begins on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Bennett's winning time in the 1,000 free was 10:27.03. Nick Wilkins '22 landed in second place in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.75) and grabbed third place in the 200 individual medley (2:02.23).

Jordan Allen '19 was runner-up in the 200 backstroke (2:03.14), Sandro Mariani '21 ended up in third place in the 100 free with a time of 51.03 seconds, and Alexander Clark '22 took third place in the 100 butterfly in 55.71 seconds.
