Hamilton men swimmers win four events at SUNY New Paltz

The Hamilton College men's swimming and diving team dropped a dual meet against SUNY New Paltz by the score of 115-88 at New Paltz's Elting Pool on Saturday afternoon.

Three Continentals finished first in four individual events as Hamilton evened its record at 1-1. Tripp Miller '18 claimed victories in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.02 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:16.02.

Case Tatro '18 captured first place in the 500 free (5:09.81), and Ben Cooper '18 grabbed the top spot in the 200 backstroke (2:05.35). Evan Tatro '20 was runner-up in the 100 free with a time of 50.22 seconds, Trevor Pearson '18 came in second behind Case Tatro in the 500 free (5:11.02), and Jordan Allen '19 was close behind Cooper in the 200 back (2:07.97).

The foursome of Case Tatro, Valentin Scognamillo '21, Jake Lowy '19 and Miller took second place in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:32.95 -- just .06 seconds behind New Paltz.

The Continentals host the 2017 Hamilton Swimming and Diving Invitational at Bristol Pool on Dec. 1 and 2. Friday's session begins at 5 p.m., Saturday's early session starts at 10 a.m. and the third and final session is scheduled for 5 p.m.
