Hamilton College's Tate Suratt '23 competed in the 2020 College Squash Association National Individual Championships at the Penn Squash Center in Philadelphia on March 6 and 7.

Suratt finished the season as the Continentals' No. 1 player and was voted to the all-NESCAC team in February. His first match in the Molloy South Division main draw was against Yale University's Eric Kim late Friday morning and Kim defeated Suratt in three games (11-7, 11-5, 11-7).

Suratt moved to the consolation quarterfinals and a match with Cornell University's Luke Park late Friday afternoon. Suratt dropped the first game by an 11-7 decision, but won the next three by scores of 12-10, 11-8 and 11-9. He advanced to the consolation semifinals for a matchup with Navy's Michael Kacergis late Saturday morning. Kacergis was an 11-6 winner in the first game and Suratt countered with an 11-6 triumph in the second. Kacergis gained the upper hand with an 11-7 victory in the third game and outlasted Suratt in an exciting fourth game, 15-13. Suratt finished his first year with a record of 10-14.
