Eckels and Wood were voted to the second team and they were two of 22 athletes honored by the NESCAC. Eckels is a 6-foot, 2-inch back who made the all-conference team all four years. He was on the first team in 2017 and 2018 and was the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2016. Wood is an all-conference honoree at forward for the third time, including the first team in 2017.

Eckels led the defense from his center back position as he started all 16 matches. Hamilton posted seven shutouts and allowed one goal three times. During a stretch of seven matches from late September to mid-October, the Continentals surrendered just one goal. Eckels is a two-time team captain and four-year starter who finished with five points in 67 career matches at Hamilton.

Wood is tied for second in the NESCAC with eight goals and is fourth with 19 points. He was named the conference and the United Soccer Coaches Division III player of the week for the week ending Oct. 13 after he racked up 10 points on four goals and two assists in two wins and a tie. The four-year starter ended up with 18 goals and 12 assists for 48 points in 67 career matches for the Continentals.

Eckels and Wood helped lead Hamilton (6-8-2, 3-5-2 NESCAC) to a NESCAC championship quarterfinal appearance for the fourth year in a row. The Continentals went 4-4-0 in the NESCAC championship during their careers and made it to the final for the first time in 2016. Hamilton tied then-nationally ranked No. 1 Tufts University 1-1 on Oct. 13.
