Tufts University's Brett Rojas scored two goals in the final 68 seconds and the Jumbos posted a 3-0 win against the Hamilton College Continentals in a 2019 NESCAC Men's Soccer Championship quarterfinal at Tufts' Bello Field on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton (6-8-2 overall) was the seventh seed for the championship. The Continentals had played the Jumbos to a 1-1 tie at home back on Oct. 13. Hamilton ended its season with three straight losses -- all on the road against conference opponents.

No. 2 seed Tufts (12-2-2) is ranked third in the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll and fifth in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll. The Jumbos move on to the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Zach Trevorrow had assists on both Rojas goals and Erich Kindermann posted the shutout without making a save. Tufts held an 18-3 shot advantage and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Thomas Benson '22 posted all four of his stops in the second half for the Continentals. Aidan Wood '20 took two shots and Matt Jordan '22 had the other. Jordan's header sailed wide of the goal in the 42nd minute. The play started with a corner kick by Wood, but his corner went all the way through and out the left sideline. Hamilton earned a throw-in that went to the right post for Jordan.

Alex Ratzan gave the Jumbos a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute with his fourth goal on a pass from Max Jacobs. It remained a one-goal match until the final minutes when Hamilton needed to press in order to have a chance to notch the tying goal. Rojas made it 2-0 with 1:08 left and put an exclamation mark on the victory with another goal just four seconds before the final whistle.
