The Hamilton College men's soccer coaching staff recently visited Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital for the unveiling of the Kart 4 Kids program.

The Kart 4 Kids is a program sponsored by Go4theGoal Foundation that allows volunteers and hospital staff to take the Kart from room to room to lift the spirits of patients and their families.

The Hamilton College men's soccer program has collaborated with Go4theGoal the past two years to raise funds towards the fight against pediatric cancer in the local community. Last year the men's soccer team raised more than $15,000 -- the largest amount ever raised by a single group for Go4theGoal -- and this year the team broke its own record by surpassing $18,000.

The Kart was named in honor and memory of Mya Corigliano. Mya was an inspiration to all the children, parents and staff while she was receiving treatment at the hospital. Her smile, spirit, fight and courage will always be a part of the journey to defeat pediatric cancer.

Two years ago, Hamilton head coach Perry Nizzi -- a native of Rome, N.Y. -- and assistant coach Brendan Ujvary had the honor of visiting Mya and her family at their home in Rome.

The mission of the Go4theGoal Foundation is to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research and granting personal wishes. Through their first-hand experience with pediatric cancer and their medical background, Go4theGoal provides the best practices to patients, their families and the hospitals and staff that care for them.
