Men’s soccer raises over $18,000 for pediatric cancer research

The Hamilton College men's soccer coaching staff visited Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse on Dec. 18.

For the second year in a row, head coach Perry Nizzi and assistant coach Brendan Ujvary delivered gifts to families with the funds that were raised in conjunction with the Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer men's soccer game against SUNY Oneonta on Sept. 16.

Last year, the men's soccer team raised over $15,000 -- the largest amount ever raised by a single group for Go4theGoal -- and this year the team broke its own record by surpassing $18,000.

The mission of the Go4theGoal Foundation is to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research and granting personal wishes. Through their first-hand experience with pediatric cancer and their medical background, Go4theGoal provides the best practices to patients, their families and the hospitals and staff that care for them.
