Men's golf defeats Williams, St. Lawrence in Florida

The Hamilton College Continentals topped a three-team field at Fairwinds Golf Course in Fort Pierce, Florida, on Thursday.

Hamilton posted a four-man team score of 291, St. Lawrence University was runner-up at 300 and Williams College was third at 301. Andrew Watson '19 led the Continentals with a 2-under 70, which is also his best 18-hole round of 2018-19. Jack Habeeb '22 tied his collegiate best with an even-par 72 and Milan Matneja '22 carded a 73. Matneja leads the team with a 74.60 stroke average. Jeremy Benjamin '19 rounded out Hamilton's top four with a 76. Sam Vogel '22 and Bobby Osborn '20 recorded 78s and Brent Schoeller '21 and Nick Randolph '21 added 79s as all four played as individuals.

On Wednesday the Continentals took on Trinity College for some individual match play at John's Island Club West Course in Indian River Shores. Each team won four matches and another was halved as Osborn and Trinity's Nick Branchina finished 18 holes in a tie. Matneja and Vogel won their matches by two holes with one to go, and Tom Graham '21 and Randolph won by two holes as they closed out their opponents on No. 18.

Hamilton returns to the links on April 13 and 14 at Skidmore College's Tim Brown Invitational at Ballston Spa Country Club.
