Men's golf places fourth at Williams' NESCAC Spring Opener

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in fourth place out of eight teams at the 2018 NESCAC Men's Golf Spring Opener held at Williams College's Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on April 21 and 22.

Hamilton's Joe Tigani '18 tied for second place out of 50 golfers after he finished with a 36-hole score of 150. His 3-over 74 on Sunday was the best round of the weekend for the Continentals. Tigani entered the weekend with a team-best 75.08 stroke average and all 14 of his rounds this season have been in the 70s. He has four top-five finishes in seven tournaments.

Bobby Osborn '20 fired a 75 on Saturday and tied for 13th place at 156. Andrew Watson '19 and Nick Randolph '21 finished at 161 and tied for 21st place.

Hamilton recorded a four-man team score of 312 on Saturday and went slightly higher on Sunday with a 316 for a tournament total of 628. Trinity College captured the team title with a 598, Middlebury College was runner-up at 607 and Williams finished third at 621.

Tigani will compete in the 2018 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship as an individual at Indian Hill Country Club in Newington, Conn., on April 28 and 29.
