Ted Mebust

Ted Mebust joined the Hamilton men's and women's swimming and diving staff as an assistant coach in September 2024. He had been an assistant swim coach with the 92nd Street Y Flying Dolphins in New York, N.Y., since April 2024.

Mebust was a three-time all-American at Bowdoin College where he was a member of the team from 2018 to 2022. He was an all-American in 2022 for his performance in the 200-yard medley relay at the NCAA Division III championships, and in 2019 for his part with the 400 and 800 freestyle relays at the national meet. The NCAA championships were not held in 2020 or 2021 due to the pandemic.

Mebust earned eight all-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) team honors for finishing in the top three of an individual or relay event at the conference championship. He was all-NESCAC for the 50 backstroke and 200 and 400 free relay in 2019, for the 50 and 100 back in 2020, and the 200 free relay and 200 and 400 medley relays in 2022.

Mebust, who is from Cooperstown, N.Y., was selected the Bowdoin athletic department's most outstanding first-year in 2019 and was named a team captain for his senior season. He earned a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin in 2022.
