The Hamilton College men's basketball team travels to Marcy, N.Y. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 for a non-conference game against SUNY Polytechnic at 7 p.m.
After defeating Eastern University 99-87 on Dec. 2, the Continentals (6-0 overall) are off to their best start since the 2014-15 season when Hamilton won its first seven games.
The Continentals lead the NESCAC in points per game (93.7) and three-point percentage (40.1) while also ranking second in the conference with a 47.8 field goal percentage.
Tim Doyle '19 guides the team and ranks second in the NESCAC with a 59.1 three-point percentage, and Michael Grassey '19 places sixth by shooting 46.9 percent from downtown. Grassey and Doyle both average over 14 points per game and Grassey adds a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game.
Kena Gilmour '20 drops in a team-high 16.2 points per game and adds 6.7 rebounds per game. Peter Hoffmann '19 is averaging 60.3 percent from the floor and 13.8 points per game. Andrew Groll '19 contributes 7.2 rebounds per contest.
The Wildcats (4-1) recently opened their conference play with two victories in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) by defeating Cazenovia College 70-67 on Nov. 29 and Keuka College 76-70 on Dec. 2. SUNY Poly averages 83 points per game and leads the NEAC with a 48.4 field goal percentage.
Redell Freeman's 22.4 points per game and 66.7 three-point percentage paces the NEAC. Josh Gregory and Kevin Williams both average 15.8 points per game and they gather 8.8 and 5.6 rebounds per game, respectively.
The Continentals were victorious 83-68 last season at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House to win their eighth straight over the Wildcats. Hamilton has a 31-2 all-time record over SUNY Poly.
