Field hockey ranked 16th in first regular season coaches poll

Hamilton College moved up three spots to No. 16 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 20 poll released on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The Continentals (2-0 overall, 1-0 NESCAC) opened the 2018 season with a 6-0 rout at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Sept. 5) and a 3-2 victory at Bates College (Sept. 8). Hamilton was ranked 19th in the preseason coaches poll that was released a couple weeks ago.

This week offers three more challenges for the Continentals as they aim to stay undefeated. Hamilton takes on Skidmore College in the Continentals' home opener at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nationally ranked No. 14 Trinity College visits Hamilton on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. and No. 1 Middlebury College makes the trip to Clinton on Sunday, Sept. 16 at noon in weekend NESCAC action.
