The Hamilton College baseball team travels to Williamstown, Mass for a NESCAC West Division three-game series against Williams College this weekend. The teams play a single nine-inning game on Friday at 4 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
Hamilton (12-12 overall, 2-3 NESCAC West) has won six of its last nine contests, including a NESCAC West series win over Wesleyan University last weekend. The Continentals hit .256 with a .371 on-base percentage and .385 slugging percentage and lead the NESCAC with 18 triples.
Matt Zaffino '21 hits .394 with 19 runs batted in and ranks top five in the conference in triples (4), home runs (3), total bases (49) and slugging percentage (.742). Jarrett Lee '21 is batting .343 with a .463 on-base percentage and seven stolen bases. Craig Sandford '19 has 10 RBIs with a .288 batting average, and James Nish '19 has 11 RBIs on 10 hits with four triples.
Brian Lawson '20 boasts a 2.28 earned run average in 23.2 innings pitched. Gavin Schaefer-Hood '21 has pitched 28.1 innings and holds a 3.81 ERA with 27 strikeouts. Ian Nish '19 comes out of the bullpen with four saves, 15 strikeouts and a 0.66 ERA through 13.2 innings.
Williams (5-14, 2-4) recently defeated Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 4-2 on Wednesday after splitting a doubleheader against Bates College on April 14. The Ephs opened NESCAC West Division play in California, taking one game out of three against Middlebury College. Williams also lost two of three games against Amherst College.
Eric Pappas leads the Ephs and ranks fourth in the NESCAC with a .415 batting average. Adam Dulsky (.280/.397/.440) and Jack Roberts (.307/.354/.427) both have 11 RBIs, and Doug Schaffer (.282/.370/.408) has 10 RBIs. George Carroll guides the pitching staff with a 3.07 ERA through 29.1 innings, and Charlie Carpenter averages nine strikeouts per game with a 7.20 ERA through 20 innings on the mound.
