The Hamilton College baseball team hosts local rival Utica College for a single non-conference nine-inning game at Loop Road Baseball/Softball Complex on Tuesday, April 10 at 4 p.m.

Hamilton (10-9 overall) won all four of its games over the weekend with a three-game series sweep over SUNY Polytechnic and a win over SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday afternoon. The Continentals racked up 35 runs off 40 hits while the pitching staff allowed just 10 runs and boasted a 2.57 earned run average.

Matt Zaffino '21 (.431/.537/.863) continues to guide Hamilton at the plate with 12 of his 22 hits going for extra bases and 18 runs batted in. Jarrett Lee '21 is hitting .380 with 16 hits and six stolen bases. Over the weekend, James Nish '20 went 5-for-10 with seven RBIs, a triple and he hit his first collegiate homer.

Utica (9-7) has been forced to postpone its last two games due to weather and are hitting the field for the first time since March 31 when the Pioneers swept a doubleheader against their Empire 8 conference opponent Elmira College by scores of 14-8 and 15-5.

Mathew Fitzgerald (.469/.536/.612) leads Utica with 14 RBIs and 23 hits. Christian Tiffin hits .475 with a .553 on-base percentage and .700 slugging percentage. Tim Quinlan hits .377 with three home runs and 13 RBIs. The Pioneers pitchers have a 7.65 ERA, and Brett Sarnowski averages over 11 strikeouts per nine innings through 13.1 innings of work out of the bullpen.
