GREENWICH, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals finished in fifth place out of 15 teams in the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Fairgrounds Showdown at Washington County Fairgrounds on Saturday morning, Sept. 26.
Jack Quinn '27 paced Hamilton in 27
th place out of 216 finishers with a time of 24:53.9 on the eight-kilometer course.
Donovan Baird '29 was next in 39
th place and a time of 25:15.5, and
Brady Armstrong '28 came in 52
nd place in 25:27.7.
Henry Ebben '27 finished 57
th with a time of 25:33 and was followed by a three-pack of Continentals.
Zed McNaughton '27 landed in 62
nd place in 25:45.5,
Jeremy Bywater '27 ended up 63
rd with a time of 25:46.8, and
Liam Card '27 was another spot behind Bywater in 25:48.3.
Six of the team's top seven runners recorded personal-record times for eight kilometers on Saturday. Card finished less than two seconds off his personal best.
Hamilton registered 149 team points. SUNY Geneseo captured the team title with 24 points, RPI was runner-up with 41 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute was a distant third with 82.
The Continentals compete in Lehigh University's Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday, Oct. 2.
