CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College placed two runners in the top 10 and the Continentals finished second out of 11 teams in their Short Course Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning, Sept. 12.
Ingrid Aagaard '30 led Hamilton in fifth place out of 114 runners with a time of 15:24.6 on the four-kilometer course. The meet was the first of Aagaard's collegiate career.
Mattie Dunlap '28 landed in eighth place in 15:28 and
Charlotte Huck '28 was 17
th with a time of 15:45.5.
It was a good day for the Continentals' first-years as
Brynlea Rieger '30 and
Lexie Blodnikar '30 joined Aagaard in contributing to the team score. Rieger ended up 20
th in 15:51.1 and Blodnikar was right behind in 21
st place and a time of 15:52.5.
Mercedes McLaughlin '27 nearly cracked Hamilton's top five as she finished 23
rd in 15:54.8.
The Continentals had 65 team points. Roberts Wesleyan University (NCAA Division II) captured the team title with 32 points and Houghton University was third with 79.
Hamilton returns to competition with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Fairgrounds Showdown at Washington County Fairgrounds in Greenwich, N.Y., on Saturday, Sept. 26.
