CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Jack Quinn '27 led a dominating performance by the Continentals as they captured the team title in their own Short Course Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Hamilton registered just 21 team points and finished 59 points clear of runner-up Roberts Wesleyan University (NCAA Division II) in the Continentals' 2026 season-opening meet.
Quinn, who competed in the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, paced the 141-runner field with a winning time of 15:32.7 on the five-kilometer course. He was one of six Hamilton athletes that finished in the top 10.
Liam Card '27 took third place in 15:55.1 and
Donovan Baird '29 was close behind in fourth place and a time of 15:57.9.
Owen Olsen '30 barely edged teammate
Henry Ebben '27 at the finish line as Olsen landed in sixth place in 16:02.6 and Ebben wound up just two-tenths of a second slower in seventh place.
Rylan Preble '30 ended up in ninth place with a time of 16:13.5. Olsen and Preble were competing in their first collegiate meet.
The Continentals return to competition with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Fairgrounds Showdown at Washington County Fairgrounds in Greenwich, N.Y., on Saturday, Sept. 26.
