Men's tennis ends 2025-26 season with home setback against Wesleyan

Katelevsky '29 and Moller '29 won their third straight doubles match for the Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. – Wesleyan University swept the singles matches and the Cardinals defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 7-0 in NESCAC action at Hamilton's Tietje Family Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon, April 26.
 

Season Update

  • The Continentals (8-9, 2-8 NESCAC) ended up in ninth place in the conference standings. Hamilton, which is 53rd in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III computerized team rankings, was coming off a 6-1 win against Connecticut College on April 25.
  • No. 47 Wesleyan (7-9, 5-5) was coming off a 4-3 loss at Amherst College on April 25.
 

How It Happened

  • The Cardinals won two out of three doubles matches and collected the team doubles point.
  • Alexei Katelevsky '29 and Filip Moller '29 pulled out an exciting win for the Continentals in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles.
  • Wesleyan proceeded to win five singles matches in straight sets and picked up another team point at No. 1 singles where a Hamilton player was forced to retire from the match after one game.
 

Notes

  • Katelevsky and Moller won their third straight doubles match and improved to 8-3 in dual matches this spring.
  • Both players are tied for the team lead in doubles wins in 2026 with 9-5 records.
