Women's tennis picks up two team points in NESCAC loss at Tufts

Challapalli '27 won her singles match and Qian '27 and Rainero '26 were doubles winners

MEDFORD, Mass. – Tufts University won five singles matches in straight sets and the Jumbos defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 7-2 in NESCAC action at Tufts' Voute Courts on Saturday, April 27.
 
Hamilton (6-8, 2-7 NESCAC) plays its regular season finale at Bates College on Sunday, April 28. The Continentals will grab the eighth and final spot for the NESCAC women's tennis championship quarterfinals with a win against the Bobcats. The match starts at approximately 2 p.m.
 
The Jumbos (9-6, 6-3) are 16th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
 
Priyanka Challapalli '27 outlasted her opponent at third flight singles as Challapalli prevailed 10-6 in a third set super-tiebreaker. She joined Grace Qian '27 as Hamilton players who have double-digit singles wins this season.
 
Qian and Samantha Rainero '26 made the most of their first match as a doubles team. The duo pulled out an 8-5 victory in their third flight match for the Continentals' other team point.
