Women's tennis team, athletes featured in final national rankings

Apsey '25 ranked in singles, joins Holtzman '23 in doubles rankings for the Continentals

Hamilton College and two of its athletes were listed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) final Division III Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings of the 2022-23 season on June 2.

The Continentals were 28th in the ITA Divison III Top 40 coaches poll while Hannah Apsey '25 (Allendale, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional HS) was 48th in the Top 50 Singles Rankings, and Apsey and Lauren Holtzman '23 (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Newark Academy) were 24th in the Top 25 Doubles Rankings.

Hamilton finished the season with an 8-9 record that included three wins against ranked teams. The Continentals went 4-6 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), and their four conference wins were a team-high. Hamilton qualified for the NESCAC championship for the first time since the last year it was a flighted championship in 2005.

Apsey finished with a 9-11 record as the first flight singles player for the Continentals. She reached the semifinals of the singles and doubles draws in the 2022 ITA Division III Women's Northeast Regional Championships at Hamilton in Sept. 2022.

Apsey and Holtzman posted a 9-6 record as the Continentals' top doubles pairing. The duo, who did not play together in the fall, recorded a 5-5 record against NESCAC opponents.
