Hamilton College's
Abby Kuhns '23 (Skaneateles, N.Y./Loomis Chaffee School [Conn.]) and
Emilio Vicioso '23 (New York, N.Y./The Dalton School) recently received awards at the Kiwanis Club of Utica Recognition Dinner honoring student-athletes of the year.

The Kiwanis Club of Utica honors student-athletes from five colleges around the Mohawk Valley including Hamilton, Utica University, SUNY Polytechnic, Herkimer College and Mohawk Valley Community College.

Kuhns was selected a women's first team all-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association and was voted the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year in 2023. The defender helped lead the Continentals to a team-record 22 wins and the semifinals of the NCAA championship in their first national tournament appearance. The two-time member of the all-NESCAC first team finished her 76-game career with 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points. Hamilton's record was 50-25-3 in Kuhns' four seasons with the team.

Vicioso earned all-America honors for finishing in the top 16 of the men's 100-yard breaststroke at the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. He made the all-NESCAC team for the first time in 2023 for finishing in the top three of the 50 and 100 breaststroke at the conference championships. He holds team records in the 50 and 100 breaststroke and is part of team-record 200 and 400 medley relays. Â
