Women's golf ties for fifth place at Amherst's Jack Leaman Invite

Sichol '26 led the Continentals with a 76 at the rain-shortened event

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Hamilton College women's golf tied for fifth place out of 10 teams in Amherst College's 2023 Jack Leaman Invitational held at The Orchards on Saturday, April 22.
 
The tournament was scheduled for 36 holes but Sunday's final round was cancelled due to heavy rain. The Continentals, who are receiving votes in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll, finished with a four-woman team score of 323. Nationally ranked No. 12 Williams College and No. 13 Amherst College tied for first place at 306 and No. 17 New York University was third at 308.
 
Peyton Sichol '26 led Hamilton and tied for sixth place out of 63 golfers with a 76. Sichol entered the weekend with a team-best stroke average of 77.33 for 18 holes.
 
Maddie Hong '23 was right behind Sichol with a 77, which put her in a tie for ninth place. Hong has broken 80 in each of her last four rounds.
 
Sofia Weinstein '24 carded an 84 and Alaina McKeen '24 added an 86 for the Continentals.
 
Hamilton competes in the 2023 NESCAC Women's Golf Championship at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on April 29 and 30.
