No. 21 women's tennis defeats Rochester for second win of weekend

Pratt '25, Cicero '25 and Walpole '26 won their singles and doubles matches for the Continentals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three Hamilton College players won their singles and doubles matches and the Continentals defeated the University of Rochester Yellowjackets 7-2 in non-conference action at Rochester's Lyman Tennis Center on Sunday, April 16.
 
The Continentals (8-6 overall) are 21st in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Top 40 Team Rankings. Hamilton travels to No. 11 Williams College (10-4, 6-2 NESCAC) for a conference match on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m.
 
The Yellowjackets (6-10) won at first flight doubles and first flight singles.
 
Stephanie Pratt '25 clinched her third flight singles match by winning 10-5 in the third set super-tiebreaker. Pratt and Samantha Rainero '26 were winners at third flight doubles. Pratt has 12 doubles victories this season.
 
Shannon Cicero '25 and Hannah Walpole '26 cruised to a win at second flight doubles and improved their record as a doubles pairing to a team-best 11-4. Cicero lost just one game at fourth flight singles and collected the 19th win of her career with the Continentals. Walpole breezed to victory at fifth flight singles and evened her record at 11-11. The 11 singles wins lead the team this season.
 
Lauren Holtzman '23 triumphed at second flight singles by claiming the second set 8-6 in a tiebreaker. Holtzman has 23 career singles win at Hamilton.
 
Claire Cutler '24 won both of her sets in tiebreakers at sixth flight singles.
