Hamilton athletic department's annual HamTrek event goes virtual

The Hamilton College field hockey team and the Office of Student Activities isn't allowing the global pandemic to sideline HamTrek in 2020.

HamTrek is an annual triathlon event coordinated by Hamilton's Director of Blood Fitness Center and Campus Wellness, David Thompson, and usually held on and near campus in late April or early May. Instead of hundreds of competitors gathering on campus this year, the field hockey team and Student Activities has organized a virtual HamTrek.

This year's participants will do a 5-kilometer run/walk or any 30-minute exercise anytime from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3. Click HERE to sign up for the event.

Everyone who participates is being asked to raise money for organizations most impacted by COVID-19 by picking a cause and donating to that organization. Finally, the field hockey team is asking everyone to wear their Hamilton gear and submit photos to the team so they can make a collage and help celebrate this special event. A link where everyone can submit their photos will be shared soon. Participants are encouraged to use #Hamtrek2020.
