Female runner Heller '19 honored for academic, athletic excellence

Hamilton College's Grace Heller '19 (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield HS) was selected for the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday, May 28.

Heller is one of 12 athletes on the first team in District 3 for NCAA Division III. District 3 includes colleges and universities located in New York. All honorees need a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing.

Heller earned all-region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships after she finished in 11th place at the Atlantic Region meet. She was named the NESCAC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week on Oct. 1 after she finished third out of 192 runners at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's 2018 Saratoga Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 29. She took seventh place in the women's 10,000-meter run at the 2019 NESCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships on April 27.

Heller majors in psychology and owns a 3.89 cumulative grade point average. She was on the NESCAC fall, winter and spring all-academic teams during the 2018-19 academic year.
