Sid and Amy Owens ’82 Goodfriend Field was completed in the summer of 2015 and dedicated on June 11, 2016.
The field hockey team calls Goodfriend Field home. The Continentals christened the new field with a 2-1 win over Rensselaer to open the 2015 season; the team's most recent season there was highlighted by a 1-0 win over Amherst in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC Championship -- the program's first home playoff game and first postseason win since joining the NESCAC in 2011. The facility features an AstroTurf 12 playing surface as well as lights and a permanent press box and storage facility. Its namesake, Amy Owens Goodfriend ’82, was a member of Hamilton’s first coeducational class. She captained the track & field team and was a member of the field hockey team; she is the first female graduate to have an athletic facility named for her.
